Pododermatitis is a common and frustrating dermatological presentation, seen both in first opinion and referral practice. Depending on the primary disease, the feet may be affected directly or in some may represent clinical signs due to a systemic disorder. Most often the clinical signs are due to a combination of causes including physical trauma and predisposing conformational factors, along with allergic, auto-immune or metabolic conditions.
In this talk, we discuss the diagnostic approach via the following points:
- History taking
- Clinical examination
- Differential diagnoses
- Diagnostic tests
- Review of differentials
- Final diagnosis
Furthermore, treatment options are discussed for each of the most common conditions.
