Bios:

Janet graduated with her DVM from Tufts University, Massachusetts, USA in 1998. She then completed her internship and residency at the Animal Medical Center, staying on as a surgeon and residency director. She is an ACVS Specialist Surgeon, specialising in soft-tissue surgery. As well as being an active member of the Veterinary Endoscopy Society and the Veterinary Soft Tissue Society, Dr McClaran serves on the ACVS Foundation Board, is an Advisor of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and member of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology. She speaks nationally and internationally on minimally-invasive surgery at conferences and academic meetings, as well as publishing widely on the subject in journals and textbooks.

David graduated from the University of Glasgow veterinary school in 2009 and worked across the UK for 4 years, gaining experience in general practice. Following this, he began working in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia, initially completing an internship at the University of Liverpool and then a 3-year residency training program at the Royal Veterinary College. David’s main interest is using balanced techniques to try to improve animal safety during anaesthesia and sedation, and also improve the quality of recovery from anaesthesia.

From falls to fights to motor vehicle accidents, dogs and cats are prone to traumatic injury. Join David and Janet for a discussion on how to manage unstable patients requiring anaesthesia and / or surgical interventions. We will review safety guidelines, pain management, as well as anaesthesia and surgery tricks and tips for a successful patient outcome, with plenty of time for questions and case discussions.

LVS Evening Seminars:

Held in Central CPD – 204a Manor Pl, London SE17 3BN, we look forward to welcoming you at with refreshments and snacks at 7pm, with a view for 2 x 30minute presentations beginning at 7:30pm with a break in the middle. We are happy to provide extra time for case discussion upon conclusion of the formal presentation.
